Joani Beckwith joined Candlewood Suites Smyrna as Director of Sales in October 2016. The excitement of being with this new one year old property with two more hotels being built directly behind fills her with the commitment to ‘make it happen’. Loving that her position allows her to work closely with companies and individuals to fill their needs with three different hotel concepts puts her on a mission to ensure her guests are 100% satisfied.
Joani’s most recent position of Director of Sales & Catering at the new full service Holiday Inn Murfreesboro allowed her to be on the opening team of the new IHG Holiday Inn concept. Prior to joining the Holiday Inn, she was an Area Sales Director for Vision Hospitality overseeing the award winning LaQuinta Inn & Suites Smyrna (named Vision’s hotel of the year 2014) and the Holiday Inn Express Tullahoma. While there she was awarded the Ish Patel Community Service Award for the company. Her experience also includes 7 years with the Doubletree Guest Suites Nashville as Director of Sales, Marketing & Catering.
Joani caught the hospitality fever when she joined Opryland Hotel in 1992. She was fortunate to work under the internationally respected hotelier, Jack Vaughn, who had the vision that created the Opryland Hotel as a convention destination, now the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. Joani stated that he was a people person who lead with dignity, integrity and passion for the guest. Joani stated, “I like to think I inherited some of his amazing traits as he was the best!”
Joani has three daughters, two rescue dogs and one rescue cat. She is an active member of St. Paul’s and a Murfreesboro Community Volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce, Rutherford County Hospitality Association, Read to Succeed, Coldest Nights, Journey Home, Feed the Family, Community Gardens, and anything to help the kids in Rutherford County to have a chance to succeed.
